July Meeting: Bipolar Mood Monitoring

At our recent all-ages meeting, we had a lively and very enjoyable group discussion about mood monitoring. Thank you to everyone for your contributions!

As many of us know, mood monitoring can be an important tool for managing life with bipolar. It encourages us to identify patterns and recognise early warning signs that our moods are changing. Understanding what to look for in advance can help us be better prepared to get the support we need.

Interestingly, this discussion closely mirrored a group discussion on mood monitoring from a previous meeting. It's comforting to see how we continue to relate to one another through shared experiences and what we've learned from them. Find examples of Early Warning Signs (EWS) and recommendations for mood monitoring tools in our previous blog post on the topic.

One tool specifically mentioned during the meeting was the BEAM daily mood tracker chart, which we've made available for download here. This chart allows for more detailed tracking by taking lifestyle and mood intensity into account. It can be useful in providing a bigger picture around mood changes, but may also be a bit intimidating for some. There are many different options for mood tracking and it's important to find what works best for you.

Thank you again for everyone who joined our discussion. We look forward to the next one!
