Bipolar Disorder and Experiences of Awe
This study aims to explore day-to-day experiences of awe in the context of bipolar personal recovery. Participants must be over 18 with a diagnosis of bipolar and have had at least one episode but not currently experiencing an episode.
Participation includes:
- Brief meeting to introduce the study
- Complete diary entries for 30 days plus additional questionnaires following experiences of awe
- Final meeting to debrief and receive a Love2Shop voucher as a thank you

AMBIENT BD | Sleep and Circadian Rhythms in Bipolar Disorder
Recruiting adults based in the UK with a diagnosis of bipolar disorder and access to a functional smartphone. Participants will be reimbursed for time and travel expenses.
Study participation includes:
-Attending in-person with the researchers at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh.
-Using innovative digital technology to monitor your sleep and physical activity.
-Regular online check-ins with the research team.

METPSY | Metabolic biomarkers of clinical outcomes in severe mental illness.
Participate in a research study looking at the connection between metabolic changes and clinical outcomes for people with severe mental health conditions. Participants must live in Scotland and be 16-35 years old with either a diagnosis of major depressive disorder, bipolar disorder or schizophrenia or no diagnosis.

HELIOS-BD | Lithium's mechanism in bipolar disorder: Investigating the light hypersensitivity hypothesis.
We are recruiting people with bipolar disorder to measure a range of outcomes related to light sensitivity. This includes measuring the structure and function of the retina, and two overnight stays to measure the response of participants melatonin to light at night.
