About the event
Brains, bugs and bread.
What if what we eat, the bugs that live inside us, and our bipolar brains are all connected?
Join group member and former scientist, Francis, on a personal journey through low-carb diets, the psychiatrist who cured mental illness by pulling teeth, deer ticks, an Australian poo experiment and why we might have been looking for the wrong genes in our quest to discover what causes bipolar disorder.
This is a hybrid meeting, allowing attendees to join us at the Edinburgh Training & Conference Venue, 16 St. Mary's Street, Edinburgh EH1 1SU or online via Zoom. The meeting is for everyone affected by bipolar, including family, friends, and carers.
The meeting provides a safe, confidential space to access peer support and learn new ways of managing bipolar, including sharing our personal experiences. We usually have either a speaker or a group discussion at the beginning of the meeting on a topic related to bipolar, followed by a chat over a hot drink and biscuits. The meeting finishes at 8.45 pm.
Please watch our Comfort Agreement, which is in place to ensure everyone has a safe, comfortable space to share personal experiences.
NB: Please do not attend the venue if you have symptoms of COVID-19.
