About the event
This is a hybrid meeting giving attendees the choice to either join us at our venue, The Melting Pot, 15 Calton Road, EH8 8DL, or online via Zoom. The meeting is for everyone affected by bipolar including carers, family, and friends.
This month we will be joined by Michaela Devlin, Community Development & Outreach Worker with Rowan Alba. Michaela will be talking about one of the services they offer: CARDS (Community Alcohol-Related Damage Service). A non-judgemental, non time limited befriending service and more (groups and outings) for individuals with alcohol use disorder and ARBD (Alcohol related brain damage).
The meeting provides a safe confidential space to access peer support and learn new ways of managing bipolar including sharing our personal experiences. We normally have a guest speaker at the beginning of the meeting talking about a topic relating to bipolar then have a chat over tea and coffee at the marvellous Melting Pot. The meeting finishes at 8:45pm. Please feel free to stay on Zoom for a chat after the speaker finishes!
NB: If you are attending in person for the first time, then please RSVP to the Introduction & Welcome event which takes place immediately before the meeting. Don't worry: you don't need to RSVP to both events, just to the Introduction & Welcome!
If you are joining via Zoom for the first time, then please email us at info@bipolaredinburgh.org.uk to arrange a brief welcome and introduction session over Zoom where we can answer any questions you might have.
Once you've attended our Introduction & Welcome session in-person or via Zoom, then you are free to RSVP to all subsequent activities both in-person or via Zoom. They are mostly free.
Please read our Comfort Agreement which is in place to make sure everyone has a safe and comfortable space to share personal experiences.
NB: Please do not attend the venue if you have symptoms of COVID-19.
